Pocket Books is the current publisher for all original Star Trek fiction.
Pocket Books is a division of publisher Simon & Schuster, Inc., which is currently owned by CBS, as is CBS Paramount Television, Star Trek's production studio. Paramount Pictures, Trek 's former owner, is now at Viacom.
Pocket Book's first Star Trek release was the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, in 1979. Previously, the license for Star Trek fiction had been with Bantam Books.
Pocket Books has offices in New York, London, Toronto, Sydney, Tokyo, and Singapore. In some Star Trek books, an additional locale, related to the specific book, will be added to this list of cities on the book's title page. (See Pocket Books offices for a listing of these locations.)
